"This project is something extra special."
Back in May, Adelaide CBD scored a huge tribute to the city’s burgeoning live music scene via a mural from local artist Dave Court, and now the creation of the masterpiece has been unveiled in a new documentary.
The artwork is the “largest to ever appear in Adelaide’s CBD” and is located on the West-facing wall of 126 Hindley Street (owned by Trinity Church and GU Filmhouse), right near live music venue Lion Arts Factory.
The 17-minute video from videographer Lewis Brideson, titled City Of Music: A Painting Project, follows Court’s journey, from conception to reveal, all the while exploring the city’s vibrant music scene via interviews, archive footage and more.
“Dave and I have been documenting local festivals, events and a diverse range of artists’ careers through different mediums for a while now, but this project is something extra special,” Brideson said.
“Stay tuned for a behind the scenes look at our interviews and research that inspired this mesh of shapes on the giant wall; there’s heaps of winks and nods to Adelaide’s vast music history that’s for sure.”
