"Thanks for your patience and be assured we want to see all of you and play for you when the coast is clear."

Violent Femmes have announced their planned tour of Australia this year will now go ahead in 2022.

Originally scheduled for March before being pushed to November, the band have confirmed that COVID restrictions have resulted in the run being postponed again.

"We are all dressed up and nowhere to go. Half the band are in USA and the other half are in Australia," Violent Femmes' Brian Ritchie said.

"We can’t get together with Covid restrictions in both places. So we’re postponing our long-awaited Australia/NZ tour to February 2022. We hope the obstacles will be removed by then.

"Thanks for your patience and be assured we want to see all of you and play for you when the coast is clear. In the meantime stay safe!”
