Nine Inch NailsNine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor recently told fans that he’s unsure if the industrial rockers will continue touring, following their current Peel It Back tour.
The frontman and musician made the statement during Nine Inch Nails’ concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Friday (27 February), where he hinted that the band’s current tour may be their last.
Addressing the audience at the BOK Centre, Reznor reminisced on the early days of performing in the city.
“I think one of the first times we played here, I think maybe it was Cain’s Ballroom, like 80 years ago… I think we were opening for Peter Murphy… and we were playing Head Like a Hole, and I could see someone in the back screaming the fuckin’ lyrics back at me, and I thought, ‘This is all I ever wanted in life, is to connect with somebody like that dude in the back [of the venue].’ Anyway, that’s what I think of when I roll into Tulsa,” he said.
Then, Reznor added, “I don’t know if we’re gonna be touring anymore after this, but I’m proud of the show that we’re doing right now. And I’m fuckin’ grateful that you’ve chosen to spend your evening with us tonight. Thank you very much.”

Nine Inch Nails’ Peel It Back tour continues throughout this month before the band plays at two weekends of Coachella next month, performing under the moniker Nine Inch Noize (alongside record producer Boys Noize).
In 2009, Nine Inch Nails went on hiatus from touring, but returned to the road in 2013. The Peel It Back tour marks the group’s first shows since 2022, following postponements and cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In December 2024, Reznor confirmed that the band were working on new music. “We’re taking the inspiration we’ve garnered [from film compositions] and funnelling it into a Nine Inch Nails project, which we’re working on now. We’re ready to be back in the driver’s seat.”
In April 2024, Reznor revealed that the band was starting to work on new music and teased a “cooler” tour.
“We can write a better Nine Inch Nails record, I think,” he said. “We can put on a cooler tour. We are aiming to do that. But man, what if we try to do that?”
