While the playlists on Triple M and Gold 104.3 already feel pretty tradie-coded, people working in trades will soon have a radio station dedicated to them and their work.
Radio Today reports that the Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has joined forces with Bunnings to launch Bunnings Tradio, now available to stream on digital radios in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. Listeners can also tune in to the station via the SEN app.
In a statement, General Manager of Marketing at Bunnings, Justine Mills, said the company is “thrilled” to be part of launching a station created and marketed specifically for tradies and small business owners across the East Coast.
“We’re thrilled to partner with SEN to launch Bunnings Tradio, a station created specifically for the tradies and small business owners who rely on us every day,” Mills said.
Speaking on what listeners can hear when they tune in, Mills continued, “It’s a fun, energetic mix of music, sport and practical advice that reflects the spirit of the trade community. We’re excited to bring this to worksites across the country.”

SEN Chief Executive Craig Hutchison added, “Bunnings Tradio is a natural extension of SEN’s connection with everyday Australians – especially those who start their morning early and work hard right through the day.
“Together with Bunnings, we’ve created a station built for the worksite: big songs, big energy and a constant stream of sport. We’re delighted to bring it to life on DAB+ and on the SEN app.”
Drawing on the music played on multiple radio stations, airing classics and contemporary tunes, Bunnings Tradio is home to songs by rock icons such as Pearl Jam, Tom Petty, INXS, and The Killers, as well as pop and R&B stars like The Weeknd, Post Malone, Teddy Swims, and Imagine Dragons.
SEN and Bunnings launched the station live from this year’s first Bunnings Trade Expos at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre yesterday (30 April). The pair will continue their launch celebrations at the Sydney Showgrounds on Thursday, 7 May, and the Melbourne Showgrounds on Thursday, 25 June.
Bunnings Tradio begins its broadcast from 5 am with the Tradio Commute, containing news and traffic updates, followed by an all-day music takeover. The station also features the Bunnings Build-Up, which replaces music with AFL and NRL match broadcasts.
The newly-launched station faces some competition, however, in Triple M’s aptly-named Tradie Radio.
Triple M launched the digital and LiSTNR radio service in May 2023.
Featuring all the Aussie and international rock tunes you want to hear when you’re building, mending, bending over toilets, and lifting concrete slabs, Triple M Tradie Radio is curated with hits by Oasis, The Offspring, Nirvana, AC/DC, Silverchair, and many more, to keep the tradie day going.
Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) Head of Client Services and Partnerships, Trevor Crook, said, “There was a clear opportunity to cater to Australia’s vast building industry, providing a ‘radio home’ for tradespeople working on site, the advertisers in this sector, and brands that want cut-through and a share of voice in it.”
