As one door shuts, another one opens.

While the Australian music festival scene and punters alike are still reeling from the news of Bluesfest’s cancellation, The Living End have taken it upon themselves to still perform for their fans this Easter Weekend.

On Saturday, 4 April, the Aussie rockers will play a one-off headline show at Hotel Brunswick in Brunswick Heads, NSW. It’s not the show fans expected from the trio this April, but it’s nonetheless going to be a night to remember.

“Like all of you who had planned on going to Bluesfest, we were bummed out when it got cancelled,” the band said. “So, we thought, stuff it, we wanna play a gig anyway, so we are! The Living End are gonna rip the roof off the Brunswick Hotel. Let’s Rock!!”

Tickets will be available from 10 am local time on Friday, 20 March, via the band’s website.

The Living End will play a full-length show following the release of their latest album, I Only Trust Rock n Roll, released last year. Their first record in eight years features singles like Misery, Alfie, Strange Place, Roller, and the title track, showcasing the band’s timeless blend of rockabilly and punk.

In addition to the new tunes, The Living End will perform hits from across their three-decade career, such as White Noise, Prisoner of Society, All Torn Down, Second Solution, Roll On, and Who’s Gonna Save Us.

In November, The Living End embarked on a national tour in support of their latest album, during which they also honoured their self-titled debut by playing it in its entirety.

The Living End’s Chris Cheney discussed the band’s evolution and finding inspiration for I Only Trust Rock n Roll in a recent interview with The Music.

“I think with this one, we realised that what we do at our heart and our essence when we just plug in, the three of us just bash away on something, that that's enough and that was enough for this record,” he said. “There's something really special in that we didn't have to overextend or prove anything other than let's just make a kickass rock‘n’roll record.”
