Melbourne's acclaimed soul luminaries and Brisbane's favourite indie son, together at last
The unexpected but incredibly welcome collaboration between Melbourne instrumental soul heroes The Cactus Channel and lauded Brisbane singer-songwriter Sam Cromack continues in the lead-up to the release of their new joint EP with the announcement of a three-date tour along the east coast this May and June.
Unveiled in support of upcoming collab EP Do It For Nothing, Cromack and The Cactus Channel will embark on a whirlwind run up from Melbourne — getting under way at Howler on Thursday 25 May — through Sydney and up to Brisbane.
The acts released their first joint single, Sorry Hills, to broad acclaim back in February, the track proving a delightful mesh of The Cactus Channel's thoughtful, inventive instrumentation and Cromack's distinct brand of seemingly-effortless-but-always-engaging lyricism, which he has honed so well over his time with projects such as Ball Park Music and My Own Pet Radio.
We now wait with eagerness for the next single, which is slated for release later today, 23 March. In the interim, at least there's this to tide us over:
