Tasman Keith has always wanted to give back to communities and help give underprivileged kids the opportunities they deserve, so it's fitting to hear that he's been named an Ambassador for The Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation (ALNF).
The HEAVEN WITH U artist wrote that he is "excited and honoured" by the title. "My work is always grounded with the intention of giving back through my experience. thank u for having me apart of the team ALNF," he said on social media.
"As an artist and a Gumbaynggirr man, literacy plays a major part throughout my expression. It has allowed me to tell my story, a story that is relatable to many more," he shared in a larger statement. "I believe everybody should be given the opportunity to equip themselves with the skill and knowledge on how to share theirs, not only for the betterment of themselves but for everyone else listening.
"If communication is key to finding common ground, then literacy is one of the many hands that hold it."
The ALNF is a charity foundation focused on helping people in marginalised communities to build vital language, literacy and communication skills. They dedicate a majority of their resources to assisting First Nations, refugees and other vulnerable Australians. Learn more about the foundation here.

“[Kempsey] is a community much like my own. Connecting with these young adults and helping them find their voice through creativity and music isn’t something I can take for granted, and it’s as fulfilling for me as it is for them.”
“There are kids in that school from all different walks of life,” he continues. “They’ve struggled to get an education in the schooling system, and this vocational college is likely their last chance. To be in there with kids of different races, different colours, different backgrounds, different upbringings, and different family problems with the love of music and writing is incredible.”
