Sydney Busker Hospitalised After Assault

Teenager charged with assault, drug offences

A 65-year-old busker has ended up in hospital with a head injury after he was allegedly assaulted by a 17-year-old male early Sunday morning.

According to police the busker was playing violin at the intersection of George and Bathurst street when the teenager allegedly punched him in the head around 1.30am today. Ambulance staff were called to the incident while police tracked the male to Town Hall station, where he was arrested. 

The Dharruk-based teenager was due to appear in Children's Court today after being charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and possession of a prohibited drug..
