Surry Hills Fest Unveil Music Line-Up For 14th Year

Lots of locals to get behind on the crafty, creative day

Sydney's favourite neighbourhood festival Surry Hills Festival is back for another zany, exciting year, this morning announcing 2016's music line-up and public art program.

The free neighbourhood extravaganza have slated in a handful of acts such as Melburnian singer/songwriter LANKS, "'80s nostalgia-Australiana" artist Allan Smithy, indie outfit Castlecomer, indie rockers Hey Geronimo and heaps more.

You'll also be able to catch Borneo, Dog The Duke, The Dusty Ravens, Dweeb City, Iluka, Kahlo, Luciana Bernabo-Madrid, Pirra, Professor, Oscar & The Grouches, Swamp To Sahara and Wishes at the September event, along with a Pop Up Stage with a slew of AIM's up-and-coming acts.

On the arts side of things, Surry Hills Festival will be bringing back the cheeky Surry Sock Puppets show, along with new public art projects The Surry Hills Wall Of Fame (a chance to dress up as the varied, infamous characters of Surry Hills) and the Popping Pom Poms (they're setting out to break the world-record for making the most pom poms, after which they're pom pom bomb the neighbourhood).

Bursting with colour, camaraderie and community, Surry Hills Festival is entry by donation and will run from 9am to 10pm on 24 September.
