Strung OutAmerican punk rock band Strung Out are returning to Australia this September, but it’s not just any old tour.
Strung Out are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their second album, Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues. Originally released in April 1996, the album managed to cram 13 songs into 32 fiery minutes and became a defining record for a generation of punk rock kids.
From the opening blast of Firecracker to Wrong Side of the Tracks, the album’s incessant hooks, melodies, and high-speed riffs still hit hard. And with an album title inspired by the Bob Dylan song, Subterranean Homesick Blues, and a line from The Who’s track, Baba O’Riley, the band scored extra cool points.
The tour begins at Perth’s The Rosemount on Wednesday, 16 September. It continues at Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Friday, 18 September, Melbourne’s Croxton Bandroom on Saturday, 19 September, and Brisbane’s Crowbar on Sunday, 20 September.
From there, the band heads to the Gold Coast’s Miami Marketta on Tuesday, 22 September, Caloundra’s Kings Beach Tavern on Wednesday, 23 September, Wollongong’s Dicey Riley’s on Thursday, 24 September, and concludes at Sydney’s Crowbar on Saturday, 26 September.
Tickets are now available via the SBM Presents website.
