More The Wombats The Wombats

English indie rock outfit The Wombats have debuted at #2 on the ARIA Album Charts with their new record, Glitterbug.

Announced as part of a massive Splendour In The Grass line-up during the week, frontman Matthew Murphy recently gave us a track-by-track breakdown of the album, which you can check out here. The band's last album The Modern Glitch peaked at #2 here in 2011.

The new record from the English rockers was held out of the top spot by Lee Kernaghan's Spirit Of The ANZACS, which holds its place at #1 for the fourth consecutive week. The soundtrack to Fast And Furious 7 holds its place at #3 as the blockbuster screens around the globe — it's hit #1 on the Digital Albums chart.

As mid-week figures predicted, US rapper Tyler, The Creator’s fourth studio album, Cherry Bomb, entered the charts, debuting at #13, following the release of five different cover designs in support of the album’s physical release.

US heritage artist Bette Midler came in one notch ahead of Tyler with It's The Girls at #12 — a sure sign that the Mothers Day market is hotting up.

Other debuts included: Handwritten by Shawn Mendes (#18); Sweet Rebecca by Beccy Cole (#19); Gold — Smokie's Greatest Hits (#38); Climb Ev'ry Mountain by Judith Durham (#44); Second Hand Heart by Dwight Yoakam (#46).

AC/DC's tour announce saw their Rock Or Bust album re-enter at #17.
