Headlined by one-night-only reunified legends
The South Australian punk festival equivalent to Christmas, Scumfest is boasting a special ‘Reunion Edition’ in 2016, headlined by hardcore luminaries Conation, hard-n-fast locals 99 Reasons Why, and a whole host of revived punk legends for one-day only.
After convincing martyred acts to smash out one last set, Scumfest will return to the Queen’s Theatre on 26 November to celebrate old and new acts from South Australia’s sprawling punk scene and beyond.
The cacophonous brain-melting stylings of The Jerks, the dissonant-punch-drunk screams of Blood Sucking Freaks, and hardcore meets metal sounds of Three Chain Break have also sworn bloody Scumfest oaths to reunify.
These old musical-geezers are locked in to provide a brain-melting performance as part of the festivals yesteryear focus, and remind audiences of their seminal punk power.

They will also be joined by some of the newest and deadliest punk bands from Australia’s scabbiest sectors.
The ‘beach-ball-party-metal-core-band’ Totally Unicorn, post-punk behemoths Mere Women, punchy spazz punk trio Hannahband, and the source of all South Australia’s noise complaints God God Dammit Dammit (plus more!) have ensured Sumfest 2016 will be a heavy one.
Here's the full line-up in all its glory:
Conation (reunion), 99 Reasons Why (reunion), Totally Unicorn, God God Dammit Dammit, Hannahband, Blood Sucking Freaks (reunion), The Jerks (reunion) , Mere Women , Three Chain Break (reunion), West Thebarton Brothel Party, Wolfpack , Crisis Alert , Scum Vegas , Iron Worzel , The Dunes , Rat Catcher , A Ghost Orchestra , Stabbitha & The Knifey Wifeys, Hate Force Five , The Scabs
If last year’s punter activities are anything to go by – yes, we’re including the mammoth indoor skate ramp – Scumfest 2016 ensures entertaining happenings off-stage also.
Live screen-printing, visual art, craft beer, wine, and soul food will be provided to visually conceptualise the jarring sounds.
The festival also has Tooth & Nail among its ranks to ‘filthy up’ plain tees with screen-prints, and a selection of local Adelaide breweries to source bevvies.
Whether punters are going to witness the legends, to hear the freshies, or to simply blow off post-exam steam, Scumfest wants to celebrate punk in all its tumultuous glory.
