Robbie Williams has teased that Kylie Minogue might be this year’s ‘surprise’ performer at the AFL Grand Final.
Back in July, it was announced that the English singer would headline the pre-game entertainment, joined at the MCG by local musos who were revealed last week.
The full entertainment line-up for next weekend’s Grand Final boasts Goanna, Christine Anu, Emma Donovan, Tasman Keith, William Barton, Katie Noonan, The Temper Trap, Budjerah, Ngaiire, Mike Brady and G Flip.
Now, Williams has hinted at one more major addition.
FOX FM’s Fifi, Fev & Nick presented Williams with a list of songs they’d like to hear which included his Kylie duet, Kids.
In response, the international pop juggernaut said: “I cannot confirm or deny that those are the song that I will be choosing, but I will tell you this – I will be singing a song that isn’t a Robbie Williams song… I’ll just put that out there.”

Williams revealed that he was yet to extend an invite to Kylie: “I need to ask her, maybe I should do that on this radio station right here, right now. Kylie, please come and sing with me. I’d love it if you did.”
Last year, Williams revealed that he and Minogue had recorded another track together, which they had “big plans” for, although COVID has delayed its release.
When he was confirmed for the September 24 event, Williams said, “I am so excited to be performing for you, on the hallowed turf of the MCG.”
AFL Chief Executive Gillon McLachlan said: "We are back at the MCG, back in front of 100,000 fans and no better performer than Robbie Williams to help amplify the atmosphere ahead of the biggest sporting event in the country."
The singer allegedly rebuffed an offer of $1 million to perform three songs at the 2014 AFL Grand Final, with reports citing his busy schedule as the reason a deal couldn’t be struck.
Last year’s WA-based Grand Final was headlined by Birds Of Tokyo and Eskimo Joe.
Williams’ new album, XXV, dropped last week.
