Following his triumphant victory on The Voice in 2024, Reuben De Melo has released his debut single, Slow, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his music career.
Slow is the first of several tracks to feature on De Melo's upcoming EP, which he'll perform on his upcoming debut national tour, visiting all major cities across Australia from July 4 2025.
The soulful singer-songwriter expresses a blend of emotional storytelling with layered vocals through his new single. Slow is a harmonic reminder to pause and connect, to feel deeply and move gently through life, honouring those we hold close.
De Melo said of the single:
As a FIFO worker and a dad, I know how fast life can move. Slow is about being present—for your kids, your partner, your heart. It’s a love letter to slowing down and holding on to what really matters.

De Melo, originally from Goa, moved to Perth when he was 11 years old. His journey as a musician began in 2018 with the release of his debut EP Consumed. This was followed by a series of singles, including his 2020 breakout hit Sweet Oblivion, which has accumulated over 4.5 million streams on Spotify.
Earlier in February, Perfect Pitch Publishing announced an exclusive global licensing agreement with De Melo. This was a full-circle moment as the publishing company represents De Melo’s musical and life partner, Olivia De Melo.
During the 2024 competition, De Melo stunned audiences with his powerful performance of I See Fire during the blind auditions, turning the iconic chairs of all four judges - Guy Sebastian, LeAnn Rimes, Kate Miller-Heidke, and Adam Lambert.
De Melo's victory in October 2024 was confirmed by the overwhelming support from viewers. He now joins Perfect Pitch Publishing’s growing roster of Western Australian artists, which includes Joan & the Giants, Sophian, Boox Kid, No Charisma and Rupert John.
