Prince - The Truth

While Record Store Day is really all about finding hidden gems, perhaps one of the biggest hidden gems of all time is none other than Prince's album The Truth. Originally released to accompany 1998's Crystal Ball, The Truth was not only the first time for Prince releasing an album independently; it also saw Prince dabble more in acoustic wiles, as fans witnessed a dazzling outing from The Purple One, but in a far more stripped-back setting. Offering unprecedented glimpses into Prince's staggering depth as a songwriter and vocalist, The Truth's release as part of Record Store Day marks the first time this stunning album has been made available on vinyl; and also offers foil-embossed artwork designed by Prince's long-time art director Steve Parke.

Ocean Alley - Lost Tropics

A defining moment of fuzz and wavering charm, Ocean Alley's debut full-length Lost Tropics in 2016 set the tone for the group's flourishing career as they stepped away from their previously-honed psych reggae roots into new and self-assured waters. With eclectic singles including Lemonworld and Holiday, Lost Tropics is a head-to-toe showstopper, and this snazzy aquamarine orange vinyl is impossible to resist! Step back to the moment Ocean Alley truly captured hearts and ears all over the world and add this to your lists!

L7 - The Beauty Process: Triple Platinum

But the wait is officially over, with the recent announcement that for the first time ever L7 will be unveiling their landmark 1997 album The Beauty Process: Triple Platinum on vinyl. This long overdue debut will get 3000 copies in (you guessed it) platinum vinyl, and will send you back in time to when this iconic bunch departed from their trademark tough rock into slower and more daring territory.

John Butler Trio - John Butler

Another vinyl debut for Record Store Day, and this time a bit closer to home, John Butler is the first full-length album by the John Butler Trio. Released back in 1998, this defining album was recorded at Studio Couch with the first version of the trio featuring Jason McGann on drums and Gavin Shoesmith on bass. Hiatus Kaiyote - Get Sun

Devotees of Melbourne's jazz-funk legends Hiatus Kaiyote may have a few more weeks to wait before they can get their hands on the group's third album Mood Valiant; but in the meantime, the chance to snap up a limited edition vinyl of the album's lead single Get Sun is on the cards this Record Store Day, with a 12" of the track featuring Arthur Verocai floating in the release mix.

Rage Against The Machine - The Battle of Mexico City

Documenting the famed show at Mexico City's Palacio de los Deportes in 1999, The Battle of Mexico City was Rage Against The Machine's first-ever show in Mexico, and also part of the group's legendary Battle Of Los Angeles tour. Making its debut on wax on a red and green coloured vinyl, with a white label completing its tribute to the Mexican flag, you'll find all your RATM faves alive and kicking throughout this rampaging release.

Doctor Who - Terry Nation's Dalek Terror

The Daleks have officially been Doctor Who's nemeses since the '60s, recognised all over the world as one of the most iconic sci-fi villains of all time. And now, you can officially add some timey-wimey goodness to your record collection, with Terry Nation's Dalek Terror lying in wait this Record Store Day, presented in a gatefold sleeve with retro style illustrations and some epic 'Extermination Splatter' coloured vinyl.
