"We are looking at doing something like that.”
Queen legend Brian May has confirmed the band are in talks to perform at a newly-announced bushfire benefit stadium show next month.
Announced by TEG Dainty and TEG Live on Monday, the Fire Fight Australia benefit concert will take place at ANZ Stadium on 16 February, which lines up with the group's own stadium tour of the country also being promoted by TEG.
As Evening Standard reports, May discussed the concert while speaking outside of Parliament in Westminster this week where he was promoting animal welfare organisation Save Me, which he is co-founder of.
“We have been approached to do a benefit concert, or be part of a benefit concert, a bit like Live Aid, if you like, to try and help out the victims of the fire," the 72-year-old guitarist said.
He continued, "No one is making an announcement yet because we don’t know what the situation will be.
“This is like six weeks away but we are looking at doing something like that.”

No acts have officially been announced on the line-up, however Aussie heavyweights Hilltop Hoods tweeted just hours after the concert announcement that "in February we will also be taking part in a massive bushfire fundraising concert in Sydney".
Organisers of Fire Fight Australia have promised the concert will be "a major musical event which will see globally renowned artists from Australia and around the world come together to perform and show solidarity with people whose lives have been disrupted by the bushfires".
Other big names touring Australia in early-mid February include Alice Cooper, The 1975, Cold Chisel, Michael Bublé and Tool.
