sick mixes from Casement, Flowerboy 卓颖贤 & more

Welcome back to our weekly segment where we pluck the best mixes from all over the web and the world, bundle 'em together and call it PS Selected. Whether it was whipped up last week or last year, if it’s worth listening to it’s bound to be featured as Holly O’Neill takes you through the hours and hours of quality mixes uploaded across the net by big and small selectors alike.

After a few weeks break we're back with some fire mixes from all over Australia and the world, from underground club sounds, to bouncy 160 dance beats to dense techno. Selectors 박혜진 PARK HYE JIN, MATRIXXMAN, CASEMENT, FLOWER BOY 卓颖贤 and NINAJIRCHI are all super impressive as producers and as DJs, but always bring something a little different to both sides of their musical output.

As a producer Flower Boy 卓颖贤 makes ambient leaning club with a ear for thoughtful melody, but as a DJ Flower Boy 卓颖贤 is a totally different beast. In her mix to celebrate Cloak Radio's first year of broadcasting she jacks the bpm all the way to 160, delivering a hardcore mix of gabber, footwork and hyper club tunes. Bringing EDM tinged builds and relentless kicks into a club sphere, even at such a blistering pace her blends of mainstream and underground sounds are unclockable.

Filled top to bottom with original tracks, Matrixxman articulates a techno vision only he could bring to life across his hour for Resident Advisor. With keen attention to minimal yet dense composition, the space the elements inhabit and a delicate attention to detail, he creates an all encompassing, ASMR triggering experience. Tastes of the more ambient and grimey alongside his boundary pushing techno seems to forecast a change in direction for the producer, who is hoping to write an album as far from techno as possible citing that "Sometimes you gotta switch it up on these shook techno fuckboys."

Casement's latest mix for Scar Duggy on Foundation FM is a solid mission statement for the producer's tastes in production and curation. Featuring plenty of funky and club influence and a huge emphasis on hooky drum lines, it's a strong halfa that's over far too soon. If you're ready to get your heart rate up with the help of unreleased bangers from his own catalogue and the UK underground, club ready basslines and percussive breakdowns, hit play.

Off the back of her new EP Lapland, Ninajirachi is this month's Triple J Mix Up resident! Her mix for EARMILK shows just why she's landed the coveted spot, as she's a master of melding future club sounds with left of centre pop tunes. There is no filler here, every track has been produced with so much specificity and intensity that it becomes it's own universe, which makes it even more impressive that she can create such clear links and move so easily between them.

"Coolness" is such a vague concept when you really think about it, but you just know for sure when someone's got it. Seoul based producer 박혜진 Park Hye Jin is an artist that just oozes cool. In her mix for i-D Mag she kicks everything off with her debut too cool hazy house track "I DON'T CARE", which really sets the tone for her whole hour. “It’s just a mix that says, ‘let’s dance all night long’” she explained to the mag, and with the progression from breezy house to driving breaks and acid no doubt the mix will speak to you too.
