'Hot Kandi explicitly warned patrons in days prior that we had a zero-drugs policy.'
The promoters of a Sydney Halloween dance party that was shut down early on Saturday night following reported drug overdoses have issued a statement, insisting they do not condone or promote drug use at their events.
As The Daily Telegraph reports, three party-goers were rushed to hospital from Hot Kandi's 'Horror Mansion Halloween' party held at Max Watt's in Moore Park, while over 20 people were arrested for drug possession during a drug dog operation between the venue and the near-by Hordern Pavilion, where Violent Soho were performing a headline show that night.
One of the punters taken to hospital was treated by paramedics for a suspected GHB overdose, while another was seemingly unconscious as they were assisted into the back of an ambulance.
The party was shut down just before midnight when paramedics arrived to the scene.

In a statement posted to Hot Kandi's Facebook page on Sunday, producer Trish Karr said, "I am really disappointed that the actions of a few have ruined this event for the majority.
"Hot Kandi explicitly warned patrons in days prior that we had a zero-drugs policy and would not tolerate anyone abusing drugs".
"When people see intimidating police officers they seem to panic and overdose," Karr's statement continues.
"I warned everyone drugs would not be tolerated and I am concerned that a small few ignored my messages. I am also concerned that people were so scared by police that they consumed drugs in overdose quantities."
