It’s been just over a couple of years since we received a new full-length record from Press Club, but now the wait is over with the Naarm/Melbourne outfit detailing their upcoming fourth album, To All The Ones I Love.
Set to arrive on May 2nd, To All The Ones I Love is the follow-up to 2022’s Endless Motion, which became the band’s first album to hit the ARIA charts, and was nominated for Best Independent Punk Album at the AIR Awards. In 2023, they released No Pressure as a taste of what was to come, before following up with Champagne & Nikes and Wasted Days in 2024.
Now, their latest album is preceded by the double-release of the tracks Tightrope and Vacate, giving fans a greater taste of what to expect on album number four.
Having recorded the record at the band’s own Footscray studio with guitarist Greg Rietwyk on production and mixing, the record is described as encapsulating the maturity of the band through a genre-shifting excurison across introspection, growth, change, and learning from past mistakes.
“Tightrope is about hitting that point where you’re done trying to fix things, becoming frustrated and numb taking on everybody else's thoughts, worries and expectations,” explains Natalie Foster. “It’s that feeling of barely holding it together, like you’re walking a tightrope on the edge of a breakdown.
“Musically, it's a bit of an ode to The Hives, written after meeting them at Hurricane festival in Germany."

As the group explain, the song came about a little differently than usual, being built around a verse guitar riff which soon informed them of the direction the chorus was heading in.
“It was one of those songs that came together pretty organically on its own, we didn't have to bang our heads against our instruments for a week or anything,” adds bassist Iain MacRae.
On the other side of things, Vacate was specifically designed to be a building, repetitive cut, taking inspiration from New Order, Joy Division, and the atmospheric guitar work of Robert Fripp on David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’.
To celebrate the release of the album, Press Club have also announced a pair of launch shows for May 3rd, taking place at The Tote. Alongside an 18+ gig, they’ll also perform an all-ages show which has been made possible thanks to funding from The Push All Ages Grant Program. Tickets to their upcoming shows are on sale now.
