Port Fairy Folk Festival Announces Live-streamed Event Following 2021 Cancellation

Following news that Port Fairy Folk Festival 2021 had been cancelled due to the COVID pandemic, organisers have revealed a special live-streamed event for next month.

Described as “a digital concert celebrating regional Victorian musicians”, Home Folk will take place on October 9, with three regional Victorian musicians performing at 30-minute set.

Confirmed to perform live from Geelong Arts Centre is Sal Kimber & The Rollin’ Wheel, Van Walker and Fenn Wilson.

“The team at Port Fairy Folk Festival are so happy to be delivering a wonderful night of entertainment featuring three great artists from regional Victoria to the virtual world,” Port Fairy Folk Festival Program Director Justin Rudge said.

“While we start preparing for the Festival’s return in 2022, we look forward to bringing you events such as this concert to remain connected with our festival family.”

Port Fairy Folk Festival Committee President John Young added: “All of us at Port Fairy Folk Festival are delighted to be collaborating with Geelong Arts Centre to produce this online concert showcasing regional artists.

The free live-stream will kick off at 8pm via the Geelong Arts Centre website and Facebook.
