The annual event is readying for its 41st installment in March
Next year's 41st edition of the Port Fairy Folk Festival continues to get bigger, with legendary Aussie troubadour Paul Kelly and long-time collaborator Charlie Owen leading the charge of acts just added to the roster for March's impending event.
Joining the venerated signer-songwriter duo will be The Warsaw Village Band, internationally buzzworthy outfit Cookin' On 3 Burners — who have already enjoyed an unlikely boost to their renown this year off the back of a widely successful remix of their track This Girl by DJ Kungs — with Tex Perkins & Stella Angelico, and Van Morrison's Masterpieces, a tribute to Van Morrison's lauded albums Astral Weeks and Moondance presented by Vince Jones & The Astral Orchestra.
Also added to the bill in the newest announce are a range of national treasures including Mick Thomas & The Roving Commission, Melody Pool, Suzannah Espie, Bennett, Bowtell & Urquhart, Neil Murray, Kerri Simpson, Barb Waters & Alison Ferrier, Jemma & The Clifton Hillbillies, Fem Belling, Yirrmal, Low Down Riders and Miss Amber & Stukulele. Further, new internationals added to the mix include Roo Panes (UK), The Young Folk (Ireland), Les Poules a Colin (Canada), Bazzookas (Netherlands), The Jerry Cans (Canada), Seamus Begley Trio (Ireland), Phil Wiggins (US), Martha Tilston (UK), Buckman Coe (Canada) and The Chipolatas (UK).
The new crop of artists add to an already alluring line-up filled out by the likes of Don Walker, Patty Griffin, Tash Sultana, The Waifs, Vika & Linda, Deborah Conway & Willy Zygier, Gawurra, Natty Man & Gara, The Pinks, Sarah Carroll & The Left Wing and many more.
