Band sign with ex-Warner boss' new label
Sydney electronic trio Panama have released their latest EP Always in America through a new label deal with 300 Entertainment ahead of their SXSW run.
The band released Always through Future Classic last year (who also book them locally), and the label's current golden touch extended to title track, which has racked up 1.3 million soundcloud plays to date.
300 Entertainment is a new venture from Lyor Cohen, who was Chairman and CEO of the Warner Music Group for eight years, and in a big vote of confidence in the Aussie band released Always earlier this week. The US release also includes the track Strange Feeling. Last month 300 Entertainment announced it had partnered with Twitter to use the social media platform as an A&R tool.
As well as the label deal, the band have signed a booking deal with Billions' David Viecelli (Arcade Fire) and Josh Lindgren. At this stage they have four official showcases booked for the Austin, Texas, SXSW conference, including the Aussie BBQ and the Future Classic parties.
