It’s been a massive week for fans of Britpop icons Oasis, who launched their long-awaited return to Aussie shores last week, on Friday, October 31st.
Bringing their highly-anticipated Live '25 Tour to Australia this year, the trek is the band’s first in 16 years, and marks the first time that brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have performed together since the final Oasis show in August of 2009.
The local leg of the tour officially kicked off in Melbourne on Friday night, with a total of three shows scheduled for the city ahead of two headline dates in Sydney this week
Now, with two of the Melbourne dates wrapped and a third to take place tonight (November 4th), Oasis have continued their nascent tradition of sharing live clips from recent shows by offering up footage of the band performing D'You Know What I Mean? on Friday night.
Originally released as the highly-anticipated first single from Be Here Now in 1997, D'You Know What I Mean? was the first piece of new music from Oasis since the musical phenomenon that was 1995’s (What's The Story) Morning Glory?.
While the album itself would become the fastest-selling album in British chart history, the single’s lead chorus of “All my people right here, right now” became a unifying cry for the band, and undoubtedly underlines the communal nature of Australians seeing the group at long last on Friday night.

Though the tour’s launch was an undeniable highlight for most attendees, Oasis’ first Melbourne show didn’t occur without incident.
While most of the show went down without anything happening, right at the end of the night – during the final song, Champagne Supernova – a punter in the general admission front standing section lit a flare and threw it into the crowd.
Though the cheeky fan received a “naughty, naughty” notice from the stage during the show on Friday, the incident caught the attention of singer Liam Gallagher, who roasted them on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account.
“To the massive C*NT who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne, you are 1 seriously f*cked up individual and you will get yours, trust me,” he wrote. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
The first night in Melbourne otherwise went down a treat, with The Music’s Christopher Lewis writing, “This wasn’t late-era Oasis desperately trying to grasp the remaining sand in their hands and watching it slowly slip through their fingers. This was an imperious band revisiting their legacy.”
The energy of the show's audience was also noteworthy, with the Seismology Research Centre in the suburb of Richmond picking up the crowd's up-and-down movement. 7 News Melbourne noted that in that time, “the earth was bouncing around like a low-frequency bass speaker.”
Oasis continue their Australian tour in Melbourne tonight, before performing at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on November 7th and 8th.
