The Academy Is… front man discusses line up changes
The Academy Is… front man William Beckett has opened up about the band's recent line up changes, where drummer Andy Mrotek and guitarist Michael Guy Chislett have decided to leave the band. Beckett said: "It’s a divide, you know, it’s basically just a natural progression of people at different places in their lives with different goals. And there’s absolutely no animosity. We’ve known it was coming for a while; we took some time after that tour to decompress and sort of reevaluate ourselves and where we were going to head with the record and what we wanted exactly. Scream to release new EP
After nearly 30 years since first emerging from DCs nascent punk underground, Scream has returned with the release of “Scream’s Complete Control Sessions.” A seven song EP recorded live in Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 this past February (with John Lousteau and Scream behind the board), it picks up where the band’s 1993 swansong, “Fumble” left off. Known for their incendiary live shows, urgent mix of punk, Bad Brains/Clash-inspired dub, and rock-and-roll swagger, the original lineup of vocalist Pete Stahl, guitarist Franz Stahl, bassist Skeeter Thompson, drummer Kent Stax and newcomer guitarist Clint Walsh come out swinging–with nary a hint of the two decades that have passed since last hearing from them. Scream’s Complete Control Session will be the second in a series of studio recordings that air on SideOneDummy Records co-owners nationally syndicated all punk rock “Complete Control Radio” show. The music will be released on 10” vinyl and via digital download on August 16th, 2011 via S...

Facedown Records re-signs A Plea For Purging
We are proud to announce the re-signing of A Plea For Purging to Facedown Records! A Plea For Purging came to Facedown Records in 2007 with a reputation for fire-breathing and amazing technical ability. The band has since released three albums, the most recent being 2010's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, a terrifyingly honest look at the age old wolf-in-sheep's-clothing theme and an auditory thrill. Now the band is looking toward releasing the follow up to The Marriage with Facedown Records in late 2011. Label head Jason Dunn says "It's been a privilege to work alongside of the Plea guys, both as a band and as individuals for the past 4 years and I am honored to be able to extend that working relationship. Plea have grown with every album so I am very excited to see where this next album takes them." A Plea for Purging will be heading into Random Awesome studio in August to record with Josh Schroeder. Andy Atkins, frontman for Plea had this to say about the band's decision to re...
