Death By Stereo sign with Viking Funeral Records
Orange County, CA hardcore punk veterans Death By Stereo have announced they have signed with Viking Funeral Records, the label founded by Pennywise guitarist Fletcher Dragge, Ken Seaton of Hardline Entertainment, and Suburban Noize Records. Death By Stereo's sixth full-length studio album, "Black Sheep of the American Dream," is set for a spring 2012 release. "I am personally proud to be a part of Viking Funeral because Fletcher, Ken Seaton and the whole Suburban Noize family have the same DIY, never back down mentality that we have. Viking Funeral is a perfect home for us, as we've seen how labels work and the majority of them are more interested in making a quick buck instead of developing an artist that puts out great records," commented Efrem Schulz from Death By Stereo. "Working with Viking Funeral brings us back to our early days in the hardcore and punk-rock scenes that birthed us, because they care about the music rather than what's trendy. This record is a return to our r...

My Chemical Romance building studio
As part of preparing for their impending fifth studio album, My Chemical Romance have decided on building their own recording space. "Back in L.A. we just got a studio so we’re kind of building that out and basically trying to make a compound where we can be creative and be there whenever we want to be,” guitarist Ray Toro told Noise11.com. “That’s the tough thing doing records in a cycle and you have three or four months where you have to write and record a record and sometimes that’s tough. You can take longer, but you always feel like there’s something over your head like a time constraint and now we’ll have our own place where we can go and make music 24 hours a day. It’s gonna be great!” As for which producer the band will work with, they have chosen the talents of Doug McKean, who has been apart of the band's previous two albums. “He’s an awesome engineer, so he’s going to be working with us. He knows everything. He’s a genius. He definitely, while we’re in the studio with...

Sick Of It All and Agnostic Front announce Australian tour
Two of the most influential bands in the history of hardcore music, New York's Sick Of It All and Agnostic Front will be touring Australia together this May on the "New York United Tour". Sick Of It All are celebrating their 25th year as a band. In honor of this achievement they recently released "Non Stop" - an album of re-recordings of classic hits. With 9 studio albums to their name and still exhibiting as much energy as the day they started, Sick Of It All are showing no signs of slowing down. Since 1982, Agnostic Front has been amongst the most venerable and notorious outcasts of the New York hardcore movement. The 2 records that started it all, United Blood and Victim in Pain, are legendary releases and were partially responsible for the hardcore genre itself. Rounding out the bill is Sydney's Toe To Toe. Over nearly two decades the tale to Toe To Toe has been rooted in survival, struggle and conviction. Forming at a time when many felt real hardcore punk rock had enjoyed...
