That's how you celebrate a milestone.
Beloved Melbourne community radio station Triple R is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and to mark the huge milestone, the team are launching a three month exhibition at the State Library of Victoria this November.
'ON AIR: 40 years of 3RRR' will be open to the public for free from Friday, 18 November and live events and broadcasts will be held on site until the exhibition closes on 29 January next year.
After launching as an educational broadcaster at RMIT University's city campus in 1976, Triple R now garners an audience of 440,000 listeners each week.
The exhibition is the first of its kind showcasing the station's history, culture and character and will feature original artworks, photographs, posters, magazines, videos of live-to-air performances and more.

"We are so excited to partner with the State Library on this exhibition," Triple R station manager. Dave Houchin, said.
"It’s a fantastic way to celebrate the work of Triple R’s volunteer broadcasters over the past 40 years and the many achievements that have been made possible due to the hard work of volunteers and staff, and the amazing support of Triple R subscribers."
CEO of State Library Victoria, Kate Torney, said Triple R is a massive part of Melbourne's identity.
"With our shared commitment to community, we are thrilled the Library will be the home for this extraordinary collection, and it’s great that people will get to see some of these items for the very first time," Torney said.
