More Gurrumul More Gurrumul

Pop princess Meghan Trainor has swooped in at the last minute to pull the #1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart out from under Aussie crooner Josh Pyke and Indigenous songwriter Gurrumul

Rising from a #5 spot last week with her album Title, Trainor left Pyke at a #2 debut for his most recent offering, But For All These Shrinking Hearts, while Gurrumul closed in at #3 with The Gospel Album.

Regardless, Pyke has still scored his highest chart debut ever, since 2008's Chimney's Afire landed at #3. Gurrumul, on the other hand, has achieved three straight #3 albums, with 2008's self-titled record, 2011's Rrakala and his newest.

Other chart debuts of the week include Lianne La Havas' Blood which debuted at #30, The Internet's Ego Death which popped in at #45, Buddy Guy's Born To Play Guitar at #47, the Descendants Original TV Movie Soundtrack at #57, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra's Brandenburg Celebrates at #59, Bethel Music's Without Words: Synesthesia at #60, Cilla Black's The Very Best Of at #68 following her passing last week and finally The Maccabees' Marks To Prove It at #97, the latter actually picking up the #1 spot in the UK.
