RÜFÜS DU SOL Tell Fans They Won’t Be Touring For A 'Solid Amount Of Time'

After a record-breaking US tour, RÜFÜS DU SOL will be stepping back from touring to record new music.

RÜFÜS DU SOL will soon embark on a hiatus from touring so they can focus on making new music, the Australian electronic music pioneers told fans last week.

The trio shared the news with a packed-out Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, last Thursday (6 August). They’ll complete their current North American tour, but after the shows have come to an end, fans might have to wait a little while to see them again.

“We told ourselves before we walked out on stage we’ve got to make the most of this,” RÜFÜS DU SOL began, per Beatportal.

They continued, “So, let’s really enjoy this because we’re not going to be touring for a solid amount of time until we have new music, and I can’t wait to share that with you, whatever that sounds like.”

The trio’s show at the Kia Forum marked their first of five dates at the venue, kicking off on 6-7 August and continuing during the period of 11-13 August, hitting pause on the 9th to headline this year’s Outside Lands festival in San Francisco.

RÜFÜS DU SOL’s lengthy run through North America concludes in October, when they headline two weekends of this year’s Austin City Limits festival.

In June, the trio made history at one of the world’s most renowned venues: Madison Square Garden. They performed four consecutive sold-out shows at the famous space, marking the most gigs by an electronic artist at the venue, selling the most tickets by an electronic artist in its history.

In December, it was announced that RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Inhale / Exhale World Tour was crowned the highest-selling electronic tour of all time, selling 750,000 tickets to their headline shows and playing to 1.5 million fans worldwide, including at festivals.

At home, the trio played to over 150,000 fans last November, which included three nights at two of the country’s largest arenas: Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena.
