Solo artist and former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has teased an upcoming return to Australia, describing a tour Down Under as “inevitable.”

Tomlinson added fuel to the fire of tour rumours in an interview on The Smallzy Show on Friday afternoon (23 January), when Smallzy hinted at the singer’s upcoming shows across the UK, Europe, and the US, taking place from March into July.

“I think you’ve done tour dates for some parts of the world, is that right?” Smallzy asked.

Tomlinson replied, “Yeah, Australia dates aren’t out there yet, though.”

After Smallzy mentioned that Tomlinson commented with a side eye emoji when someone asked for Australian tour dates, the singer said he’ll “definitely” be heading Down Under soon.

“I always find the question kind of funny because as long as I’ve been touring, I’ve always come to Aus. It’s inevitable,” Tomlinson said. “I love it there, I love it. So yeah, I’ll definitely, definitely be there. I think we’re just - it can’t be too long until we announce, to be honest.”

Smallzy added, “Whatever, whenever… If we’re announcing anything, just so no one says, please take that out of the interview,” to Tomlinson’s response: “No, it’s happening. Don’t mind them. It’s happening. The tour’s happening. Get your tickets soon.”

Tomlinson will be touring this year in support of his just-released new album, How Did I Get Here?. The record follows his 2020 debut solo album, Walls, and the 2022 follow-up, Faith In The Future.

Tomlinson made his Australian debut in July 2022 and returned for a three-date East Coast run in January/February 2024.

While promoting Faith In The Future during his last visit to Australia, Tomlinson still served One Direction fans with performances of Drag Me Down and Where Do Broken Hearts Go, as well as another cover: 505 by Arctic Monkeys.
