Lorde Unveils First Single From New Album, 'Melodrama'

Kiwi pop powerhouse Lorde has finally revealed what she's been teasing — her long-awaited new single Green Light, the first taste from her sophomore record, Melodrama.

The Grammy-winning singer co-produced the song with Taylor Swift collaborator (and fun. member) Jack Antonoff and Frank Dukes and is an upbeat, diverse track that she says on Instagram is "very different and kinda unexpected. it's [sic] complex and funny and sad and joyous and it'll make you DANCE".

Lorde also unveiled the cover of the new album, a painting by Sam McKinniss. Melodrama is due out this mid-year and follows 2013's Pure Heroine.

Check out the video for Green Light below; she'll be performing it on Saturday Night Live next week.
