KPop Demon Hunters, and the film’s catchy lead single, Golden, are already global phenomena. But sooner rather than later, the movie will be the subject of a World Tour.

On Wednesday (13 May), Netflix announced that it would turn KPop Demon Hunters into “a live experience that will bring elements of the two-time Oscar-winning film to life in spectacular ways.” Billboard reports that the streaming giant will deliver the tour alongside AEG Presents.

No tour dates have been confirmed, but fans can sign up to this waitlist to find out more information when it’s revealed. Hopefully, the show makes its way to Australia, too.

While we don’t know what a KPop Demon Hunters live show would look like, or who would perform the many songs from the film, Billboard notes that the rise of avatars could come in handy if HUNTR/X singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI aren’t attached to the project or can only appear on limited dates.

In March, reports arose that Netflix was in discussions with promoters to bring the movie to life. Talks reportedly focused on having HUNTR/X on the road or virtual performers, such as holograms, appear on stage.

According to Bloomberg, earlier discussions about a world tour included plans to visit “dozens” of major cities, stopping at arenas with capacities of between “10,000 and 20,000” patrons.

Since its debut last June, KPop Demon Hunters has amassed more than 500 million views on Netflix. HUNTR/X have also made history as the first K-pop girl band to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and their song Golden is the first K-pop song to win a Grammy Award. In Australia, Golden remains inescapable.

The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart last July. It retained the top spot until mid-August, when Hilltop Hoods nabbed their seventh #1 and sixth consecutive #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with their latest release, Fall From The Light.

The single, Golden, originally debuted at #8 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Last August, it hit #1 for a multi-week run, with additional soundtrack tracks Your Idol, Soda Pop, How It’s Done, What It Sounds Like, and Free picking up spots within the Top 10.
