Netflix has reportedly held talks with multiple concert promoters to bring KPop Demon Hunters to the world stage in 2027.
According to Bloomberg (per NME), discussions about a potential world tour indicate plans to visit “dozens” of major cities, stopping at arenas with a capacity of between “10,000 and 20,000” patrons. Netflix hasn’t chosen a concert promoter yet, but has reportedly received offers of “tens of millions of dollars” in upfront payments.
If a world tour actually does happen, fans will be able to sing along to performances of songs from the film. It’s currently unclear who will take the stage if the tour goes ahead. KPop Demon Hunters features songs by the groups HUNTR/X and Saja Boys, the latter of which stars EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REMI AMI.
Netflix is reportedly in discussions to bring the real-life HUNTR/X on tour, but is also considering using virtual performers, such as holograms.
Since its debut last June, KPop Demon Hunters has amassed more than 500 million views on Netflix. HUNTR/X have also made history as the first K-pop girl band to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and their song Golden is the first K-pop song to ever win a Grammy Award. In Australia, Golden remains inescapable.
The KPop Demon Hunters movie soundtrack was produced by the K-pop label, Black Label, and features songwriters behind BTS hits. It features acts such as TWICE, MeloMance, and Jokers, as well as songs from the film.
