It's looking promising...

More The Kid LAROI More The Kid LAROI

17-year-old The Kid LAROI could make ARIA chart history come Saturday night when the latest results are announced.

The Sydney Kamilaroi rapper is in serious contention to top this week's Albums chart with his Fuck Love (Savage) mixtape and, if successful, LAROI will become the youngest Aussie solo artist to hit #1.

The current record holder is Delta Goodrem who scored the #1 position back in 2003 with her debut album, Innocent Eyes.

The news comes just weeks after music legend Barry Gibb became the oldest artist to land #1 on the Albums chart at 74 with Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers' Songbook.

LAROI's Fuck Love (Savage), which currently sits at #2 in Australia, #11 in the UK and #13 in the US, hasn't left the ARIA top 40 since its release in July 2020 and has racked up over one billion streams worldwide.

Meanwhile, his latest Gold single, Without You, is placed at #3 on the Singles chart.

Just last week, music icon Elton John praised LAROI during an interview on his Rocket Hour show.

"You're already huge, but I hope you realise what's gonna happen to you in 2021. You're gonna be one of the biggest artists in the whole wide world," John told LAROI.

"You really deserve it because your music is so great... your music covers a lot of bases."

EDITOR'S NOTE: This article previously stated Harrison Craig currently holds the record for being the youngest Aussie solo artist to have a #1 album which is incorrect. Delta Goodrem holds that record with 2003's Innocent Eyes at 18 years, 6 months and 20 days.
