Turn of the lights, turn up the noise.
WWF's Earth Hour is going online this 25 Mar, the global environmental movement changing its usual tack to keep people connected during the COVID-19 crisis.
Hosted journalist and broadcaster Patrick Abboud, #EarthHourLive will be a live-streamed event with live crosses to lights out from around the country, special guests, giveaways and performances from bands Jack River, Polish Club, Alice Skye, Bobby Alu, Ella Arber and Dulcie, with more to be announced.
“Staying connected as a community and looking for positive ways we can contribute is more important than ever as the world responds to the coronavirus crisis,” says WWF-Australia CEO Dermot O’Gorman.
“The act of switching off our lights for Earth Hour has always been a show of solidarity for stronger action on climate change and a chance for millions of people worldwide to collectively raise their voice for nature.
“This year will be dramatically different as we all strive to control the spread of COVID-19. Most of us will be spending our Saturday night at home, but we can still connect to a community of supporters around Australia and be part of a positive moment for the planet."
