EXCLUSIVE: ISOL-AID Instagram Live Festival To Go Again This Weekend

"We were just so overwhelmed with how much happiness it brought."

Not even 24 hours after the inaugural event wrapped, The Music can exclusively reveal that the ISOL-AID Instagram Live music festival will return this weekend.

Following events this past Saturday and Sunday with sets from the likes of Stella Donnelly, Julia Jacklin and Angie McMahon, Aussie favourites including Jen Cloher, EGOISM, Emily Wurramara and Loose Tooth will perform for fans on the “socially (media) distanced music festival” this Saturday.

"We were just so overwhelmed with how much happiness it brought," Rhiannon Atkinson-Howatt (Merpire), who co-organised ISOL-AID with Emily Ulman and Shannen Egan, told The Music today.

"We don't want to big note ourselves or anything, but it really seems like it spread a lot of hope across the internet which is really nice. All three of us are addicted to just keep bringing that same vibe as long as we can."

Atkinson-Howatt admitted that they weren't sure how people would react to ISOL-AID following it's announcement last week, however they have been "overwhelmed" with the response.

"I wasn't sure how it was going to go down but it was pretty amazing to watch the numbers climb," she said.

"It was pretty incredible to watch the audience interact not only with the artists playing, but each other."

While entire numbers are still being collected, it has been confirmed that over 3,000 fans tuned in for Stella Donnelly's 20-minute set alone.

Artists sat on the edges of beds, baths and couches and shared rarities and unreleased tracks in real time - from June Jones crooning sneak peeks of the album she’s working on to Angie MacMahon rolling through covers of Springsteen’s The River, Pink Rabbits by The National and Lana Del Rey's Born To Die.

Though no more events are currently booked in, Atkinson-Howatt told The Music that they hope ISOL-AID will continue for some time.

"We've got the passion going so we're going to do it as long as we can," she said.
