A quick glance at one some of the nation's indie bands have been up to

Flume beats Justin Bieber while Tame Impala and The Rubens pick up some ground on the ARIA charts this week, meanwhile High Highs have also achieved success by association, with the Pitch Perfect soundtrack - which the band's Open Season features - reaching peak position on the Billboard 200.

Speaking of succeeding in the USA, Chet Faker was able to secure a Super Bowl airing, his take on Blackstreet's No Diggity featuring on an ad for Becks beer who promoted their new label Sapphire. Have a look at what we thought of it.

The final Coopers Amp finalists have been named, with the list of nine featuring already-named Grand Salvo, Jess Ribeirio & The Bone Collectors, Hermitude and Urthboy (who recently performed on Q&A) now also joined by Flume, Tame Impala, The Presents, Liz Stringer and Daily Meds – the winner due to be announced March.

Indie rockers Ball Park Music have signed a new co-management deal with One Louder's Bill Cullen and Stop Start's Andy Bryan – the former handling Aussie deals and the latter on international.

Post-punk rockers Gung Ho chalked up a deal with Create/Control, a 5-track EP set for release later this month through the sister label of Dew Process. And as expected, they'll be celebrating the release with a tour, supported by Jeremy Neale.

Jeremy Neale seems to be a popular boy at the moment, also announced as the support for Millions and Cub Scouts co-headlined under 18s show also unveiled during the week. Joining Neale in the support spot will be Pear Shape as the bands make the trip to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Fancy a free gig? Mushroom's Free For All show will take place tonight at Melbourne's Thousand £ Bend, featuring the likes of Bleeding Knees Club, DZ Deathrays and Adalitaget on that!

After some touring time abroad, Sally Seltmann has returned home and announced she'll preview some new material in an upcoming Aussie tour next month, material that will appear on the songstress' set fourth record, set for release later in 2013.

Hospitalisation forced garage rock powerhouse Frenzal Rhomb to pull out of the upcoming Descendents tour kicking off on Wednesday, one of the band's members coming down with “a sudden and unexpected illness”.

An Oh Mercy, but not Oh Mercy type show will feature at Brisbane's new live music venue The Southside Tea Room later this month, the band's frontman Alexander Gow playing a solo set, supported by Fremantle multi-instrumentalist Slow Dancer – who has played guitar for the band over the years. Leading up to the release of his debut full-length, singer-songwriter Jordan Millar announced a massive 23-date tour, joined by fellow acoustic performer Jack Carty, who is also set to unleash a new EP – check out the Cold Lights On A Modern Life tour dates.

American hardcore act Title Fight have named a bunch of local supports on their tour around the country this March, including Luca Brasi in Tasmania,  Yo, Put That Back On in Sydney and Cavalcade in Melbourne, to name a few.

One-man-band Wintercoats will join Sarah Blasko on her huge I Awake Tour this month, just another notch on the belt of the ever-growing success of the act. The Necks will also joining the fray in Perth towards the end of the month.
