A quick look at the moves and grooves of the nation's indie bands this week.

Flume

Flume

Man of the moment Flume has announced his first headlining national tour to coincide with his upcoming Groovin' The Moo appearances. He'll be joined by his pal Chet Faker in what should be an awesome handful of shows.

Rapper Pez has signed a management deal with Hub Artist Services. A second album from the MC will drop later in the year.

The xx are one of the biggest acts of 2012 through the success of their LP Coexist - so for local duo Jagwar Ma to be named as their support for their Oz tour is pretty sweet news. They recently just toured with the Big Day Out.

The side project of Art Vs Science member Jim Finn is coming to a town near you (or atleast three of our capital cities). Vydamo has been getting plenty of hype since it's debut track Gonna Make It was released.

Captivating songstress Elizabeth Rose has announced a remix EP release and a string of tour dates. She will play in four of the capital cities.

Things keep getting bigger and bigger for The Rubens. They've announced a massive run of tour dates throughout April and May.

Congrats are in order for Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes, who have signed with US indie label Vanguard. They'll release there second LP Baby Caught The Bus here and in the states this May.

The Trouble With Templeton have released a fresh track called Like A Kid which is a slight departure from their more melodramatic tunes we're used to.

The fantastically named Courtney Barnett & The Courtney Barnetts will be heading out on their first headline tour this March, with three shows (and a festival) on the east coast.

Young folk rocker James Teague will be hitting the tour circuit this March. The WA native has just released a new single Where Sorrow Is Forgotten (In The Great Divine).

And we had some crazy news on the Frenzal Rhomb front, with lead singer Jason Whalley revealing he recently underwent an operation to remove a parasite that had infected his brain. Now we know why they canned their support appearances on the recent Descendents tour. Speedy recovery to you mate.
