The lauded US Latin metal outfit will bust out their debut LP in full on the upcoming run
Veteran US Latin metal sextet Ill Niño are returning to Australian shores for a five-date national retrospective album tour this August.
Kicking off at the Capitol Theatre, in Perth, on Wednesday 2 August, Ill Niño and their horror-metal mates Terror Universal (who also feature two of the former's members, in Dave Chavarri/Massacre and Ahrue Luster/Diabolus) will melt faces in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane over their blistering five-day tour.
The venerated outfit — who performed at both the 2011 and 2014 Soundwave events, and were tapped for the ill-fated 2016 festival — will be delving into the back-catalogue with an in-full live rendition of their debut album, 2001's Revolution Revolución, on the impending jaunt.
With six additional albums, a different line-up and more than 15 years' experience between the band now and RR's original release, it's safe to say that Ill Niño are an altogether different band than the one at the turn of the millennium and that, given their reputation for frenetic, visceral and impactful live performances, this upcoming run will cast the album in a whole new light, reimagined and renewed as it's sure to be.
