"A new kind of experience for punters.”

There’s never a dull moment when it comes to the Perth venue scene, and with a slew of new hotspots opening across the state over the past 12 months, a heritage listed Northbridge hall will be refurbished to host live music and other entertainment.

As The West Australian reports, William Street’s Rechabite Hall – built in the 1920s - is being reinvigorated by Fringe World’s Marcus Canning and heritage developer/Happy Heart’s Adrian Fini, with $3 million worth of refurbishments approved.

“This is about transforming this grand old dame for a sparkling new future full of life and vitality,” Canning told The West.

“Each of the four levels from the basement through to the new rooftop space have a dash of drama behind their design and will offer a new kind of experience for punters.”

The refurbishment will reportedly see a bar installed in the basement alongside a performance space, and the main hall re-done as the primary performance space. A rooftop terrace bar will also be setup.

Happy Heart currently has a 21-year lease on Rechabite Hall.
