Museum Of Brisbane invites you backstage to look at three decades of Brisbane's music scene.
Primed to open this week ahead of BIGSOUND, Museum Of Brisbane's High Rotation exhibition looks back at three decades of Brisbane's epic music scene.
Ahead of its official opening tomorrow 30 August, The Music took a trip down memory lane and went inside the exhibition to bring you a sneak preview.
"At the Museum Of Brisbane, we're here to tell the stories of the people and places of Brisbane and this is what High Rotation is very much about," said director Renai Grace at the preview.
"We're celebrating the last 30 years from 1989 to today of popular Brisbane music. The exhibition is not just about the artists that we see here, it also provides an insight into the venue managers, the producers, everyone who really works behind the scenes in the industry. So it's no one single person that we're actually celebrating, we're actually celebrating the industry as a whole."
Supported by curatorial advisor Leanne de Souza, the exhibition features film clips, photographs, instruments, souvenirs and ephemera on top of an immersive digital component.
"Leanne has [allowed us to] interact with so many people in the industry, consult them [and] really go out there and see who are we in the city and [ask] what does it mean to be in the music industry in Brisbane," Grace continued.

"I can tell you, it's not an easy feat curating this exhibition; really trying to capture the energy and the emotion that music brings to everybody is quite difficult."
High Rotation will run at Museum Of Brisbane until 19 April 2020. Tickets are on sale now.
BIGSOUND delegates will be able to attend the exhibition next week with the free BIGSOUND bus making a stop at the museum.
