The album contains 100 songs "that inspire progress and benefit a cause for change"
Revered Aussie singer-songwriter Jen Cloher has unveiled new song Kinda Biblical as part of the charitable Our First 100 Days release, designed to "inspire progress and benefit a cause for change".
The track itself comes from Cloher's as-yet untitled, forthcoming studio album, and features her band members, Courtney Barnett, Bones Sloane and Jen Sholakis.
Kinda Biblical sits alongside 99 other songs — more than 80 of which are freely available to listen to now via Bandcamp — raising money for issues such as climate change, women's rights, immigration advocacy and other causes at risk under Donald Trump's conservative US government.
Speaking about the song in a statement, Cloher is cognizant of the fact that she's not American herself, but nonetheless was happy to contribute to the release to stand in solidarity with people living in the United States who are likely to be negatively impacted by the introduction of protection-dismantling policies under Trump's rule.

"It’s always tricky writing about another country’s politics but it’s important to see world politics as a global issue," she said in a statement. "Australians will be affected by Trump's presidency.
"More importantly, we care about what our friends in the US are about to go through. Kinda Biblical is an examination of the radical Christian Right and their influence on the Republican Party. It’s frightening when Church and State become one and the same.
"The ‘I don’t wanna, I don’t think so’ lyrics are borrowed from Kim Gordon’s Kool Thing, a nod to her classic line, ‘Are you gonna liberate us girls from male white corporate oppression?’ The reference to bluebirds are, of course, Trump’s addiction to Twitter."
The Our First 100 Days album features a diversity of incredible artists, including the likes of PWR BTTM, Joan Of Arc, Minus The Bear, Angel Olsen, Rob Crow, Hurray For The Riff Raff, fellow Aussie Sui Zhen, Into It. Over It., The Mountain Goats, Julien Baker, Kate Tempest, Speedy Ortiz, Surfer Blood, comedian Tim Heidecker and so many more.
It has so far raised more than $US85,000 (about $113,000) for its chosen causes.
