Shirley Manson and The Dear Hunter are making sidewaves
After a massive eight-year absence from Aussie shores, Scottish seductress Shirley Manson and the Wisconsin boys from Garbage have announced two Soundwave sideshows for fans in Sydney and Melbourne.
Ever since their critically acclaimed self-titled debut in 1995, Garbage have been won the hearts of fans all over the world with their tunes of angst and sex, and in February of the next year, the four-piece will take time away from their sold-out Soundwave schedule to play intimate performances for die-hards.
The last time the group visited Australia was in support of their 2005 record Bleed Like Me, and after short hiatus, they're ready to tear up the Metro and Forum stages, fresh with new tunes from their 2012 Not Your Kind of People full-length.
Joining Manson and the boys will be Rhode Island indie rockers The Dear Hunter, bringing their poignancy and imagery of fear, love, hope, death and afterlife Down Under, equipped with material from their huge nine-EP repertoire The Colour Spectrum.
Tickets for Garbage and The Dear Hunter go on sale next Thursday, 13 December and are expected to be snapped up incredibly fast – get on it.
Monday, 25 February – Metro Theatre (All Ages), Sydney Tickets
