The Gold Coast has had an influx of cash lately, with FISHER’s second Out 2 Lunch festival boosting the local economy by millions.

After a record-breaking debut year, the Australian producer expanded the festival, making it a two-day saga with a stacked line-up. This year’s iteration of Out 2 Lunch was held in Broadwater Parklands over this past Labour Day weekend (May 3 and 4), and brought in more than 30,000 fans to the region - selling out accommodation across the board.

FISHER took up a double headlining slot across the two days, and was joined by a range of international heavyweights during the weekend: Chris Lake, Patrick Topping, DJ Boring, and Noizu. A few local legends joined in too, including Hayden James, Jake Smith, Little Fritter, and Shimmy

Altogether, Out 2 Lunch 2025 injected a whopping $54 million into the Gold Coast’s economy - a well needed boost after the impacts of Cyclone Alfred. The sold-out festival also created 1500 jobs, and engaged over 200 local businesses.

Southport Chamber of Commerce President Trevor Bruger, praised the event, saying, “Major events like the Out 2 Lunch Festival deliver real and measurable value to Southport’s business community. They drive foot traffic, increase local spending and provide exposure that money can’t buy.”

On top of that, Out 2 Lunch donated over $30,000 to the Make A Wish Foundation, donating $1 from each ticket sold and $20 from each guest list/comp ticket to the charity.

FISHER himself was stoked with how the event went, posting on Instagram: “FOR TWO DAYS MY HOME TOWN CAME IN AND ABSOLUTELY SMASHED THE GRANNY OUT OF IT… I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY YOU GUYS 😍… IT WAS SO AMAZING TO SEE EVERYONE JUST HAVING THE BEST TIME SO THANK YOU SO MUCH.”

The 2024 iteration of the festival was nothing to scoff at either. With 30,000 punters in attendance, it broke Australia’s record for the biggest ever beach party, ultimately injecting $50 million into the Gold Coast’s economy. The lineup, headlined by hometown hero FISHER, was stacked with fellow electronic stars: Vintage Culture – marking the Brazil-based DJ’s first-ever Australian show – Flight Facilities, Little Fritter and Shimmy.
