Keli Holiday cancelled a show in New York that was scheduled to take place over the weekend.

In a statement posted to his Instagram Stories, Holiday – aka Adam Hyde of Peking Duk fame – explained that he was detained at the Canadian border following a show in Toronto and denied re-entry into the US to complete his North American tour.

Holiday added that he had all the “proper visa documentation” sorted and was seeking “clarity” about the situation. But as he couldn’t re-enter the US, the show was cancelled, and he travelled back to Australia.

“Unfortunately, I’m not going to make it to tonight’s show at Baby’s All Right in NYC,” Holiday wrote on Instagram. “I have spent all day detained at the Canadian border and denied entry back into the U.S. despite having the proper visa documentation in place.”

He added, “I’m still trying to get clarity on the situation myself.”

Holiday was in the US between 1 May and 7 May for a short yet epic run of shows, and a date in Brooklyn would have closed the tour.

In a statement to The Music, Holiday’s representative confirmed that he wasn’t given a reason for his visa being cancelled. Hyde is now back in Australia, where he continues his Capital Fiction regional tour in Manly this Thursday (14 May).

On Friday, he’ll join forces with his Peking Duk bandmate, Reuben Styles, and the pair will play a massive show at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion—their biggest Sydney show in seven years.

In February, Hyde released his second studio album under the Keli Holiday moniker, Capital Fiction. Spearheaded by the singles Dancing2, Ecstasy, and More, the album debuted at #1 on the Australian Albums Chart and #3 on the overall ARIA Albums Chart.

Capital Fiction also landed at #5 on the Vinyl Albums Chart. It’s an impressive feat for any Australian artist, but even more so when said artist is independent. With Peking Duk, Hyde previously hit the charts with Reprisal, which peaked at #12 in 2018.

Before the album’s release, Holiday reached #2 on the 2025 triple j Hottest 100 with his hit single, Dancing2, losing the top spot to Olivia Dean’s Man I Need.
