Yet another messy incident following Elon Musk's takeover of the social media platform.

Doja Cat has been a victim of a glitch on Twitter - seemingly stemming as a result of the social media platform moving to a subscription service for blue-tick users, rather than the original intention behind the blue tick as verification against scammers - where she couldn't change her Twitter name after pre-emptively calling herself Christmas.
While stuck with Christmas as her Twitter name, the Kiss Me More singer and rapper tweeted yesterday, "Why can't I change my name on here" before posting, "How do I change it, also fuck you Elon". Pleading with the platform's new owner following his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, she directly tagged him and tweeted, "I don't wanna be Christmas forever @elonmusk. Please help, I've made a mistake".
Musk, still ironing out the kinks to the updated $8 verification service, personally addressed Doja Cat's concerns by responding, "Working on it! Pretty funny though," and later telling her, "You should be able to change your name now".
So, today, Doja Cat is known as Fart.
"Twitter's current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn't have a blue checkmark is bullshit," Musk tweeted last week, announcing changes to the platform's Blue Tick verification service.
Power to the people! Blue for $8/month," he posted on his Twitter account.

"Price adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power parity," he added, citing that $8/month users will have access to "Priority in replies, mentions & search, ability to post long video & audio, half as many ads, and paywall bypass for publishers willing to work with us".
Musk noted, "This will also give Twitter a revenue stream to reward content creators" and "There will be a secondary tag below the name for someone who is a public figure, which is already the case for politicians."
Following Musk's takeover, Sara Bareilles, the Love Song and She Used To Be Mine singer-songwriter, left Twitter. "Welp. It's been fun Twitter. I'm out. See you on other platforms, peeps. Sorry, this one's just not for me," she wrote.
Seven-time Grammy Award-winning Toni Braxton is also logging off Twitter. The Un-Break My Heart singer said, "I'm shocked and appalled at some of the "free speech" I've seen on this platform since its acquisition. Hate speech under the veil of "free speech" is unacceptable; therefore I am choosing to stay off Twitter as it is no longer a safe space for myself, my sons and other POC."
