DeftonesGetting ready to see Deftones this weekend and next week? Little organisation is required, as tour promoters Live Nation and the venues hosting their shows have revealed the set times you need to know.
Deftones are in Australia for their first headline tour in nearly a decade. The American nu-metal stars’ forthcoming shows mark their first time Down Under since they served as a top-level act at the 2022 Good Things Festival, appearing on a bill alongside Bring Me The Horizon, NOFX, and more.
These dates are the band’s first headline tour since November 2016, when they toured in support of their Gore album.
This tour has been met with phenomenal demand, prompting the addition of a second show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre months in advance. And, in December, the band had already sold out shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Auckland.
With all the buzz around the shows, set times for this weekend’s double bill at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena and next weekend’s two nights at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena have been announced.

Melbourne-based punk powerhouse Ecca Vandal is the first to perform on all nights. In Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, Vandal and her band take the stage at 7 pm. Promoting her upcoming album, LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW, punters can expect a fiery set.
After her energetic set, New York indie rock and post-punk pioneers Interpol perform at 7:55 pm. The band have new music on the way, and in 2024, the group celebrated the 20th anniversary of their seminal album, Antics.
The moment fans have been waiting for happens at 9:15 pm, when Deftones deliver a 90-minute headline set that’s expected to end at approximately 10:45 pm. Touring in support of their tenth album, the critically acclaimed private music, fans can expect classics as well as new favourites each night of the tour.
The tour begins at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena this weekend (Saturday, 2 and Sunday, 3 May). Followed by the Sydney shows, Deftones and friends will perform for two nights apiece at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre (Wednesday, 6 and Thursday, 7 May) and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena (Saturday, 9 and Sunday, 10 May).
The tour concludes with one night at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Wednesday, 13 May. You can find remaining tickets to the shows here.
Having first risen to fame in the mid-’90s, Deftones’ legacy as one of the most prominent alternative metal groups in music history has been followed by a widespread resurgence in recent years, with an influx of younger fans discovering the iconic band and reigniting an appetite for their mesmerising riffs, incendiary compositions, and Chino Moreno’s dynamic vocals.
Upon its release last year, private music reached the top ten globally and became the band’s best-charting release to date.
