AC/DC's album Back In Black has been inducted into the 2013 Grammy Hall of Fame as part of the Recording Academy's 40 year celebration. Recordings are included in the Grammy Hall of Fame on the basis of musical, cultural and historical significance.

Back In Black was released in 1980 and was the band's first album with their current singer Brian Johnson, who joined the band after the untimely death of Bon Scott that same year. A smash hit that has sold over 50 million copies worldwide, it shares honours with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon for the highest-selling album by a band and has risen to the top of the heap to be the highest-selling album by an Australian musical act.
