The musicians estate is apparently set to finalise the deal in the coming weeks
The rights to the full songwriting back catalogue of rock legend David Bowie is reportedly going under the hammer, with dealings being made with anonymous buyers set to be confirmed very soon.
According to a report from the Financial Times, the prolific artist's expansive songbook will head into the region of US $200 Million, thanks to his illustrious career spanning six decades and recording of over 400 songs including Space Oddity, Life On Mars?, Let's Dance and countless others.
Bowie, who passed away in 2016 just days after releasing his final studio album Blackstar, bequeathed his estate to his wife Iman and his two children, Alexandria and Duncan Jones. While no comment has been made by the estate or any of the parties involved in the acquisition, further details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
Bowie's estate also sold the rights to his recorded works just last month, in a deal with Warner Music Group that saw the long-term licensing of his work handed over to the company.
More details as they emerge.
