‘Dancing In The Darkness’ picks up Best Original Song Composed For The Screen
The soundtrack or score to a film or TV show has the ability to take its storyline to a completely different level, and a slew of Australian artists have tonight been recognised at the 2016 Screen Music Awards for their efforts in the industry, with husband and wife composing force Darren and Sally Seltmann among those honoured.
The Sydney City Recital Hall event – hosted by Chris Taylor and Andrew Hansen of The Chaser fame – saw former Avalanches member Darren Seltmann and acclaimed singer-songwriter Sally Seltmann awarded Best Original Song Composed For The Screen, having penned Dancing In The Darkness for ABC’s The Letdown last year.
Caitlin Yeo’s composition for Getting Frank Gehry saw her take home Best Music For A Documentary, no easy feat when pitted up against celebrated Melbourne muso David Bridie.
Bridie was also nominated for Best Music For A Mini-Series Or Telemovie, which was awarded to The Beautiful Lie composer Alan John.
