Dakota Griffiths - better known as the content creator Band Banta - has much to celebrate.

The queen of local music content, Band Banta has been a vital component of the South Australian music scene for the past year. Supporting local artists and keeping music-lovers in the know - Band Banta has been doing it all.

"Band Banta has been such a wonderful opportunity and I am so grateful for the support people in the Australian music scene have thrown my way,” Griffiths says. “I created Band Banta as a platform for Australian musicians to share their creative journey and music without having the pressure of needing to navigate social media platforms themselves. However, in the past year it has expanded into so much more, now featuring gig guides, upcoming singles, written interviews, concert reviews and promoting new music in any way possible. I’ve had many amazing opportunities that I am so grateful for like partnering with NYE on the Hill and local festivals Spin Off and Marksenfest, and also interviewing over fifty musicians.

To celebrate her marvellous, ground-breaking year, Band Banta is hosting an all-ages bash at the Lion Arts Factory on Saturday, May 3rd, from 5:30 pm. In true Band Banta tradition, the event will be showcasing some of the best musical talent that South Australia has to offer.

The line-up will include performances from stellar acts such as dreamy shoegazers Sunsick Daisy, indie darlings Purée, emo outfit Townhouse, hard-hitting trio St. Loki, alt-rock band The Fuss, and indie-rock foursome Stormy-Lou. This is just another example of the way that Band Banta has prioritised community and connection in the local scene.

“As for the future of Band Banta, I'm not sure how far this project will take me, but something I have learnt is that I love the Australian music scene and am passionate about supporting our home-grown talent,” Griffiths says. “If all goes well with the Band Banta Birthday event, I would love to explore the possibility of hosting more all-age gigs in South Australia. One thing that is for certain, you can expect 2025 to be filled with more interviews with your favourite established and emerging Australian artists, more gig guides and a lot more music recommendations."

Tickets for the unmissable bash are available to purchase online now.
